The Hong Kong Sixes 2025 is scheduled to kick off on Friday, November 7, and will continue until November 9 at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong. This tournament is renowned for its exhilarating six-a-side, six-over format, showcasing top-tier international talent and providing thrilling cricket entertainment that fans globally cherish.
Participating Teams and Tournament Structure
This year, a total of 12 international teams will vie for the championship: India, Australia, England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Africa, Afghanistan, Nepal, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and the host nation, Hong Kong, China. The debut of Kuwait adds an exciting twist to this global event.
Over the three-day event, spectators can anticipate 29 action-packed matches, which include 12 pool games leading to the knockout stages.
Each match will consist of six overs per side, with six players on each team. Every bowler will bowl one over, with the exception of the wicketkeeper, while one bowler is permitted to bowl two overs.
The teams are organized into four pools, with the top two from each pool progressing to the quarterfinals.

Sri Lanka, the defending champions, will strive to keep their title against a formidable lineup, including India, which is captained by the seasoned Dinesh Karthik. The Indian squad boasts notable players such as Robin Uthappa and Stuart Binny, who bring both experience and flair to the team.
Other prominent players to watch include Andrew Tye from Australia, Joe Denly from England, Babar Hayat leading the hosts Hong Kong, China, Akbar Ali, the U19 World Cup-winning captain from Bangladesh, and Abbas Afridi from Pakistan.
